My inspiration: The smallest and simplest honest deeds create great sparks in me. “The road less traveled by” may be a common phrase but you cannot be inspired or passionate if you have not experienced loss or admitted failure. Mentors have guided me thru that road with their honesty and sensitivity.
My Passion: I’m passionate about many things including absorbing knowledge; whether that be in my travels, listening to a bride talk about “her dress,” eating one of my husband’s culinary creations, my sons’ artwork, singing in a choir, finding an inspiring song, or a second chance. It would take a page to describe how I feel when I’m coordinating a wedding. I don’t remember it but my mother told me even as a little girl, I loved observing the flowers, the bride, and the whole pageantry of a wedding. My mother also coordinated most of her family’s weddings so it could be genetic.
My Experience: Many years of corporate meeting and event planning, team support specialist and project coordinator for start-up teams, and always lending a hand with my family and friends’ celebrations.
Oliveaire Event Architect and Event Assistant since 2007 specializing in traditional and Asian weddings
My Favorite Food: I love eating and trying all sorts of food but it’s a toss-up between “pasta tossed in olive oil, a little garlic and fresh basil with a glass of light, white wine” or “a home-made tamale or taco.”
My color: I just discovered I like red a lot. My car and favorite sweater are red.
A moment I will never forget: There are too many to mention, but it was when I finally received my college degree because it was a quiet feat. I did it just for me and it was the most arduous thing to juggle with the other fifty things I had going on in my life. It was that one life project that almost made me loose my sense of humor and sanity forever but it didn’t.
Book I have read more than once: I love reading but I never read a book more than once. However, I repeatedly refer to my thick “History of Art” book for reference and simply enjoy revisiting the artwork illustrated in it. It was an expensive book but worth every penny.
